Timberman - 8/23

Looking forward to a great race this weekend. Probably not a PR but, the weather looks good and relatively comfortable!
Any hints on the course from those that have done it are most welcome!

Drive the bike course before the race! There is a nice and steep little hill about 5 miles (ish) into the course that hits you right after a sharp right hand turn so you need to anticipate and be in the right gear. Other than that just have fun. It's a great race! :D

Dan,
This is my favorite Road Tri ever. We had a blast last year. The swim is beautiful. The ride does have the big hill but after placid it will seem like an anthill to you! Then you can get down in your bars and cruise along. The run is not bad either except for one stretch where you bake a bit in the sun. However, it looks like you are going to have great weather for the weekend. This is a top notch race. Very well run! Good luck Ironman Dan! Jodi :D

All of the above is correct. Only that one major climb and the rest, as far as I remember, is rolling or fairly flat. A good portion of the ride is on a concrete highway so there are those joints every fifty feet, but the road is good. Again if my memory serves me correct, the run is a few rollers and one big descent that you will climb on the way back. Can't remember is the run two loops? If so, then double what I said above.

Have a great race! I'm sure you will do well! 8-)
